Catlink Scoop Robot Pro – My Honest Experience
First of all, I’d like to express my gratitude to Catlink for creating the Scoop Robot Pro.
I’ve known the brand since 2021–2022, but at that time their models didn’t suit my cats, who prefer an open, spacious litter box.
I bought the Litter-Robot 4 in May 2023. About a year later, I began having issues: waste sticking to the globe and pad, and sensor errors (like the bin-full light even after replacing the liner). Odor also became a constant problem despite my efforts. I tried air fresheners, deep cleaning, different litter types, and adjusting settings, but nothing worked.
I also own a Meowant SC09, which performs decently, especially since nothing ever stuck to its silicone liner, but it still had limitations.
I started researching alternatives similar to the Litter-Robot 4. I found the Catlink Scooper Open-X, but I wasn’t fully convinced after comparing options. A few days later, I discovered the Scoop Robot Pro—and it had everything I was looking for.
My only concerns were the lack of reviews and the price. Then I found the Trade-Up Program, which gave a $150 discount. The process was simple: I applied and quickly received a promo code.
After more research, I decided to try it. Below are the key features that mattered most to me:
- Dual-camera AI monitoring: lets me watch my cats and potentially detect health issues early.
- Multi-cat recognition & tracking: identifies each cat, tracks visits, and records weight.
- Active oxygen deodorization: built-in odor control in the waste bin.
- Enclosed capsule design: reduces scatter and keeps waste hidden during cleaning cycles.
- 12L waste bin: large capacity with a sealed drawstring system for odor-free disposal.
- 5GHz Wi-Fi: fast and stable connection.
- 360° safety sensors: immediately stops if a cat enters during rotation.
- Easy-clean removable parts: bonnet, globe, sifter, waste bin, odor block, and especially the removable globe pad, which makes cleaning much easier.
Additional features I liked:
1- A litter guard attachment helps prevent accidents outside the box. One of my cats used to miss the Litter-Robot 4 entrance, but hasn’t with this unit, although I haven't needed to use the guard attachment.
2- Optional automatic litter refiller (which I later purchased).
I initially didn’t buy the refiller, but after my three cats switched completely to this unit, I realized I needed it. I started using the Scoop Robot Pro on July 30, 2026. By August 3, the app showed low litter after about 45 uses and less than one 10.5 lb bag of Ever Clean litter.
- No waste sticks to the globe or pad, even without daily cleaning.
- Shipping was very fast (ordered July 27, arrived July 30 in the U.S.).
What I’ve Learned From the Cameras
The cameras are my favorite feature, especially the one facing insidetheglobe.
1. I noticed two of my cats may have low urine output, especially my youngest, so I plan a vet visit.
2. Two cats consistently urinate and defecate in the same visit.
3. My youngest cat sometimes eats human hair, which leads to unpleasant situations when it passes through her stool. It’s messy and difficult to manage, despite regular cleaning.
App Feedback
The app is very useful overall, though I think it could be improved. I’ve already shared this with Catlink and hope they consider that I suggest some improvement tips.
Cloud storage
Catlink offer 1 year free cloud storage. With this, the videos are stored for 24 hours, then would be deleted. The cloud pricing is not expensive at all, and you have the option to choose 1 day or 7 day video recording saved in the cloud.
Final Thoughts
I’m very happy with the Scoop Robot Pro. My cats switched to it immediately, and it solved many issues I had with previous litter boxes.
