Today’s story comes from Jenny, a veterinary nurse and practice manager at Skycrest Animal Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. With more than 30 years in the veterinary field and countless experiences as a cat mom, Jenny has seen everything—from fragile recoveries to full recoveries—and knows just how much a cat’s well-being depends on the little details in their care.
Jenny has used three different CATLINK models over the years: the Scooper SE, Pro-X, and most recently, the Scooper Pro Ultra. Her unique perspective as both a veterinary professional and a devoted cat owner offers valuable insight for the entire CATLINK community.

When We First Met
Jenny’s journey with CATLINK began because of Gordon, her 8-year-old male neutered domestic shorthair, who has feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD).
“Gordon, my 8-year-old male neutered domestic shorthair, has feline lower urinary tract disease. This is the primary, driving force that prompted my original purchase of the Pro-X model. He is also on a special prescription diet which causes him to urinate more frequently, and knowing that he is not walking on saturated and gross litter gives me such peace of mind.”

FLUTD is a challenging and often frustrating condition, and for male cats, especially, urinary tract health is closely linked to kidney health. Cats naturally prefer clean toileting areas—just as humans prefer clean bathrooms. Outdoor cats can choose from many spots, but indoor cats rely solely on their owner’s maintenance.
For a traditional litter box, that means scooping at least twice daily, and in multi-cat households, having more litter boxes than cats to prevent stress or urine retention. But Jenny found that the constant cycling of the Pro-X allowed Gordon to always have access to fresh litter, making it easier to manage his condition.
“Feline lower urinary tract disease is a very challenging and frustrating condition, and I have found our sanity and mental health much improved along with his symptoms.”
Falling in Love with the Ultra
Jenny’s favorite model so far is her newest CATLINK Scooper Pro Ultra, which she received through a CATLINK giveaway.

“Out of the three boxes I own, I have to say that I love the new one the most simply because of the new added and upgraded features(the built-in camera) it provides. I love the ability to look on camera to see that my cats are not only using the box successfully but also to check on their outputs to confirm that they are within normal limits.”
For Gordon’s condition, this visual monitoring is a game-changer:
“The new litter box that includes the camera now allows me to check his urine visually to confirm that I don’t see anything abnormal like blood; or if he is having a flare-up with his condition that can make him visit the box more frequently and produce smaller volumes of urine, I am able to monitor that much more successfully with this upgraded box. For all of these reasons you guys truly are a lifesaver! I tell all my clients how much I love your products.”
And there’s another feature she can’t stop raving about:
“It is so much quieter than my previous Scooper Pro-X. I thought it was quiet, but this one is next level!”
From Home to the Clinic?
Jenny is even considering introducing CATLINK at Skycrest Animal Hospital, where two full-time “hospital cats” have made themselves at home. While she’s not sure how they’d react to a CATLINK litter box, she’s eager to see if they adapt as well as Gordon has.
Jenny’s story is a perfect reminder of why CATLINK exists: to make life healthier for cats and easier for their humans. Whether it’s supporting a special medical need, ensuring consistent cleanliness, or providing peace of mind through smart monitoring, her experience demonstrates how the right tools can truly make a difference.
