CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro Trade UP Is Coming: Should You Upgrade From Scooper Pro Ultra?

The CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro Trade UP event is almost here.

For years, CATLINK Scooper Pro Ultra has been one of the few automatic litter boxes equipped with a built-in camera, making it a go-to choice for many multi-cat households. Now that CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro has arrived, you may be wondering:

What improvements does Scoop Robot Pro offer compared with Scooper Pro Ultra?

Or perhaps an even more practical question:

Is this limited-time upgrade worth it for my cats?

After reviewing discussions from the CATLINK Facebook community and comparing both models side by side, we've put together a detailed guide to help you decide.

Litter Box Capacity

For larger cats, CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro is clearly the stronger option.

Take a typical Ragdoll, for example. Inside the CATLINK Scooper Pro Ultra, many full-grown Ragdolls fit comfortably enough, but often with their heads peeking slightly out of the opening. It can look a bit like an astronaut trying to squeeze into a spacecraft that was designed a decade ago. Maine Coons, of course, present an even bigger challenge.

The Scooper Pro Ultra features a 65-liter globe with a largely rounded interior. While that design works well for average-sized cats, larger breeds may have less room to turn around or dig comfortably.

CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro addresses this issue with an elongated globe design. The extended interior creates more usable space, allowing cats to move naturally once inside the litter box.

The upgrades don't stop there. The waste bin capacity has also increased from 13 liters on Scooper Pro Ultra to 15 liters on Scoop Robot Pro.

For a single-cat household, this can extend waste disposal intervals from roughly two weeks to as long as twenty days. That said, every home is different. If you notice odors building up sooner, it's always a good idea to empty the waste bin more frequently. After all, even the best trash can in the world eventually asks for a little attention.

Enhanced Odor Control

CATLINK Scooper Pro Ultra already offers a comprehensive odor-control system.

With regular replacement of the CATLINK cat litter box Odor Eliminator and CATLINK Activated Carbon Cotton Filter, many users are able to keep both the waste bin and surrounding room noticeably fresh.

CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro builds on that foundation with the addition of the Fresh Air System Kit.

The kit can be connected to various ventilation setups, including sliding windows and air-conditioner exhaust outlets. Through the CATLINK app, users can select different ventilation modes based on their home environment.

According to feedback from the CATLINK community, households using the CATLINK Fresh Air System Kit report a consistently fresh experience during everyday use.

Dual-Camera System

The primary purpose of the internal camera is to help monitor your cat's elimination health.

Most cat parents know that litter box habits often provide some of the earliest clues about a cat's overall health. Signs such as blood in the stool, constipation, or loose stool can be easy to miss during daily routines.

The built-in camera records litter box activity, creating a visual history that can help identify abnormalities. If an issue arises, those recordings can also provide useful context for veterinary consultations, making it easier to assess potential health concerns.

The external camera serves a different purpose.

Many pet owners install separate home cameras to keep an eye on eating habits, water intake, and daily activity. CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro simplifies that setup by integrating an external camera directly into the system. For multi-cat households, this can be especially valuable.

Anyone who lives with multiple cats knows they operate like tiny roommates with their own schedules, preferences, and occasionally strong opinions about personal space. Keeping track of everyone can be surprisingly difficult.

With the CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro external camera, users can monitor feeding, drinking, and general activity without installing additional surveillance equipment. The internal and external cameras can also be controlled independently, allowing owners to enable or disable each camera according to their needs and privacy preferences.

Cloud Storage and Cat Recognition Features

Both CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro and Scooper Pro Ultra currently include up to one year of complimentary cloud storage service. This allows users to review recordings from the previous 24 hours whenever needed. Additional subscription details and cloud storage information can be found in the FAQ section.

Looking ahead, CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro will also support a new facial recognition system for cats.

The camera module in all CATLINK Scoop Robot Pro units has already been equipped with the necessary hardware to support this feature. Through future over-the-air updates, CATLINK plans to introduce cat facial recognition technology that works alongside the existing weight-based identification system.

The result will be even more accurate pet identification, particularly in multi-cat households where two cats can somehow weigh nearly the same while behaving completely differently.

Technology may not settle sibling rivalries between cats, but it can at least help tell them apart.
